Meeting with Management
Thursday, June 25th, 2009Diane Kessinich and I met with management today:
District manager, his immediate supervisor, director of store planning, and the district manager for deli & bakery. here it is in a nutshell:
1) we requested that they take down the brown paper from the windows in National as it looks horrible for our Village. Our suggestion was that they contact the school and do student art in the windows. They liked the idea and agreed to it.
2) the parking lot, including new drains and curbs in the back: they say it will be complet by the third week of July.
3) freezer section…they agree that it is still aproblem…they need to fix it by tearing it out and repairing the back of the unit. They claim they willl address it immediately.
4) Produce: now that it is summer, they get their own truck, not the last delivery from theother stores. They will continue to monitor
the problem but claim that very few people return anything. We told them that people don’t want to be bothered doing it.
5) Pricing and coupons: we made a major push on this issue…..they will go back to the corporate office and give us an answer. I plan on waiting a week and then calling them if we don’t hear.
When any of you contact me with problems, i plan on printing the emails and taking them to the store.
Also, they told us that if anyone wants something not available in the store, just go to the desk and give them your requests and they will fill the order.
Most importantly, we tried to impress on them that they are NOT community mided and should become so. Every csustomer that leaves them now will not come back “after the summer people leave!”
